Application :

Acarbose is a derivitized maltotriose antidiabetic drug. It is a reversible a-glucosidase inhibitor used in medical studies to control the effects of Type II diabetes. Acarbose is often used as a reference to which other a-glucosidase inhibitors are compared and is one of the most commonly used drugs for DM2.
